The server then needs to take the receipt back and reenter the payment to include the tip. The next time you are at a restaurant time how long this takes, it may surprise you.

How long does this take? It can go quickly but when your restaurant gets busy and your servers or bussers are everywhere the process can slow down. Throw in as well orders that need to go out and new customers that need to be served and this can slow down quite a bit.

Younger customers are already used to this so they will adapt to it quickly and something small like this could even be a reason that they come back (though we do recommend that the food that you serve be the main reason for that!).

There is another reason that this could be beneficial. Anytime a payment card leaves a customer’s hand, there is the chance that a less than scrupulous employee could do something illegal with it. A mobile payment solution eliminates this risk since the card will not leave the customer.
